Current Funding Opportunities
We offer a range of seed funds to support international collaboration. These are designed to develop Warwick's partnerships with global institutions, as well as facilitate collaboration with our strategic partners.
International Partnership Fund
The University’s International Partnership Fund (IPF) is designed to foster or establish collaborations between Warwick academics and their peers at top international universities or institutions. It supports joint preliminary research, as well as the organization of meetings, conferences, or workshops. This IPF is intended to support partnership development worldwide.
Monash Warwick Alliance
Formed in 2012, for over 10 years the research powerhouses of Monash University, Melbourne, Australia and Warwick have navigated a successful partnership, focusing on high impact research and developing international leaders and expertise for the future.
There are funds available to support researchers, educators and students. They have been designed to support you at every level of your collaboration, whether it's establishing new links or advancing existing collaborations. There are two rounds of funding available every year with deadlines in Autumn and Spring.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University
We are pleased to announce the launch of the 6th round of the SJTU-Warwick Joint Seed Fund.
The SJTU-Warwick Joint Seed Fund has been established with the specific intention to foster new initiatives with high potential for global impact that combine complementary aspects of each institution towards novel research outcomes.
SJTU-Warwick Joint PhD Programme
The SJTU-Warwick Joint PhD Programme has been established with the intention of creating opportunities for both institutions and their students to collaborate on high-quality research projects. The programme also provides a framework for the progression of joint research projects supported by the SJTU-Warwick joint seed fund.
Stellenbosch University
The Stellenbosch-Warwick Joint Seed Fund is designed to flexibly support Stellenbosch and Warwick researchers and professional services staff to establish new links and advance existing collaborations.

We are pleased to announce the launch of the UofT-Warwick Joint Seed Fund, a collaborative initiative designed to foster innovative research and the creation of academic and societal impact.
This new fund brings together the complementary strengths of the University of Toronto and the University of Warwick, to facilitate research and education initiatives, by enabling academic colleagues to jointly undertake preliminary research or pilot projects, and organise meetings, workshops and events.
Together we are committed to uniting our shared areas of expertise to tackle the greatest challenges faced by people across the world today.
Warwick PhD and Early Career Research Fellowships
Closing date Wednesday 21st May 2025, 10:00 am
The Humanities Research Centre will fund 3 internal fellowships for PhD students and early career scholars (up to 5 years post PhD) wanting to conduct short periods of research abroad.The JHU and Newberry Fellowships are worth £3,000 each. The HRC North America/Europe Fellowship is worth £2,000. These fellowships are intended to support trips of 2-3 weeks that will deepen and broaden research links between Warwick and research institutions in North America and Europe and to further individual research projects in archives and collections.
Applicants are responsible for arranging travel, visas, itineraries and accommodation, although we can provide advice. We encourage applicants to seek out contacts in the institutions they want to visit in advance of their applications and to provide details of these in their material (you do not need to provide written references). Your trip must be more than simply presenting a paper at a conference and you must clearly demonstrate the potential benefits to Warwick in your application.
